The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna is a institution of health. The University addresses itself to the conservation of a healthy animal population. It therefore contributes through the production of healthy food to the health of human beings. The close interdependence of healthiness in man and beast, e.g. the threat by zoonosis, requires a close cooperation between human and veterinary medicine in this scientific field. This is also true for the support of cancer research by the society "RedPaw", which I warmly recommend.
